Application of TuRisMo
Traffic
- Traffic volume
- Fraction of heavy vehicles
- Fraction of DG transports
- Speed
- Frequency of congestions
- Special points of conflict
Built infrastructure
- Uni-directional or bi-directional tunnel
- Tunnel length
- Distance between emergency exits
- Longitudinal slope (inside the tunnel, on the approach routes)
- Cross section geometry
- Number of traffic lanes
- Width of traffic lanes
- Emergency lane / lay-bys
Equipment/surveillance
- Video detection
- Lighting level
- Speed monitoring (punctional or sectional)
- Distance monitoring
- Fire detection systems
- Fire suppression systems
Ventilation
- Type of ventilation (natural, longitudinal, transversal)
- Ventilation capacity
- Airflow monitoring
- Fire programme of the ventilation system
- Reaction time of the ventilation system
Self-rescue
- Distance between emergency exits
- Accident location
- Type/number of the involved vehicles
- Signage of the emergency exits
- Information systems
Third-party rescue
- Accessibility for response forces
- Deployment time of response forces
As a result of upgrading the model the range of application of TuRisMo has widened in order to address various specific problems as well as to take measures to mitigate these problems in a quantitative manner.
By upgrading TuRisMo the number of influencing factors increased, making it possible to study different types of tunnels as well as to investigate a large number of different tunnel safety measures in a quantitative manner.
The accordion table shows a short summary of typical influencing parameters.
